To be honest, I can't even tell you how the habit started. But whenever I leave the house, two healing crystals are always in my left pocket. Carnelian and malachite. A stabilizing stone with high energy, carnelian gives courage and promotes positive life choices, according to The Crystal Bible by Judy Hall. This crystals also helps people like me to trust myself, and that's usually something I need when traveling. Malachite is an important protection stone, according to Hall, especially for children. It absorbs negative energies and pollutants from the body and atmosphere with ease. I have several different pieces of malachite and carnelian in my collection, but the stones that travel with me are always the same. The carnelian stone is the very first one I purchased. I ... At least I used to think so. Then I had my daughter and read The Baby Sleep Solution by Suzy Giordano. Her sleep-training method, which involves getting (and keeping) children on a schedule, proved to be invaluable for my daughter and our family the past two years. Ever feel like your spirit guide is using another human being to communicate with you? My 2-year-old daughter M loves playing with my tarot and oracle cards. "I want to look at Momma's cards please," she often says to me if I leave a deck out within her reach. She unpacks them from their box or pouch. The way I do it produces a very mild, barely there scent that I love... and that doesn't bother hubby. Now, before I share my easy peasy process, I want to state that I'm not a doctor or medical professional. If you think you may have sensitivities to ... View Post

Right now I'm borrowing two essential oil books along with a classic book on magical herbs. Here's a brief summary of each book and what I like about them so far. Full reviews to come! The Organically Clean Home by Becky Rapinchuk -- I've been on such a cleaning spree lately. I've also been wanting to branch out with my essential oil use and this book combines both of those interests. I love the clean (wink) design of the cover and insides of the book. I also ...
