As a child, I’d look at the moon in the sky and dream of life’s possibilities.
I still make wishes on the moon today
I’m more intentional with the process now but taking the time to think about one’s life aspirations — and to record them — is a powerful thing.
Especially during the new moon, which is all about new beginnings.
An old superstition says if you look over your shoulder during a new moon and make a wish, it will come true.
We all have goals and desires swirling around in our heads, yet how often do we take the time to ask for what we want? And ask for help in achieving it?
That’s why I pen new moon wishes
Writing down what I wish to manifest in my life each month helps me to:
- Organize my thoughts on the goals and desires I wish to achieve in my life, and why.
- Record my wants on paper and declare it to the Universe.
- Stay focused on the positive aspects of my life so that I may attract more positivity and abundance. It’s the Law of Attraction after all. Like attracts like!
How to write new moon wishes
Within the first eight hours of the new moon, sit down with a pen and a piece of paper and scribble up to 10 wishes, or intentions you’d like to set for yourself.
Be specific about what you wish to manifest.
Write your wishes in the present tense, as if they’ve already come true. While you are writing them down, visualize your wishes and try to feel what it would be like if they’d already come true.
Then tuck the piece of paper away in a safe spot. Or, some people like to burn their wishes.
In the coming month, think about your wishes and each time you do, try to feel the way you’d feel if they came true.
Pay attention to see if the universe is nudging you or providing you with opportunities to make your wishes come true!
